Orange Fruit Pudding


 Happy new year to all my readers :) I hope i'll get the time to post many recipes this year...I still have last years recipes half written & some without pics hope to complete it this year... 

My friends keep telling to post more of desserts,cakes & pudding recipes...so here i am sharing a simple pudding recipe..Orange Fruit Pudding :)

Ingredients :
  • Flour- 1/2 cup+1 tbsp.
  • Bread slices - 6.
  • Butter-1/2 cup +1 tbsp.
  • Sugar (powdered)-1/2 cup+1 tbsp.
  • Orange-1
  • Baking powder-1 tsp.
  • Eggs -2
  • 3/4 cup Mixed fruits ( raisins, chopped cashew nuts,almonds, chopped cherries , tutti frutti ).
  • Chopped candied peel-1 tsp.
  • Honey-2 tbsp.
  • 1/2 tsp orange marmalade.
Method :
  • Break the bread slices into fine crumbs( Don't toast them use one day old bread).
  • Extract juice from the orange add water if necessary to the juice to make it 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp.


  • Lightly grease the pudding dish, cover the base with butter paper.
  • Mix the honey & orange marmalade for 1 sec heat in a microwave & pour over the butter paper, arrange the cashew nuts over the syrup in an attractive pattern & keep aside.
  • Preheat the oven 210 c.


  • Chop the cherries, almonds, cashew nuts & mix with tutti frutti & raisins. 
  • Sift the flour with baking powder.
  • Mix the maida mixture with the mixed fruits.

  • Beat the butter with sugar till light.
  • Add the beaten eggs little at a time,beating well after each addition.
  • Add the chopped candid peel & beat well.
  • Add the bread crumbs,& mix well.
  • Fold in the flour mixed fruits mixture alternately with the orange juice & mix till well blinded.
  • Spoon the pudding mixture into the prepared greased  dish.


  • Place the pudding dish on a pan ↑ filled 1/2 of  hot water & bake for 1 hr or more till done.
     Or

  • Cover the pudding dish with the lid or aluminum foil & steam it for 1 hr or till done.

  • Remove the dish let it cool allow to set in fridge for 5- 10 min... when set invert on a serving plate.
  • Serve warm or cold... Cut in slices & Enjoy...
